Cosmetic Bonding, Dental Veneers, & Crowns
We commonly repair damaged, misaligned, or irregularly shaped teeth with cosmetic bonding, veneers, and crowns to achieve exceptional results. All three of these cosmetic treatment options can take a patient’s smile to new heights. Let’s explore what each one can do.
Smile Restyle
Minor flaws and damaged teeth can keep a person from enjoying life to the fullest. Not only can cosmetic flaws affect the look of a person’s smile, but they can also lead to discomfort and diminished function. At Millennium Family Dental, we offer three powerful treatment options: cosmetic bonding, veneers, and crowns. When used separately or in combination, these treatments can make any change a patient desires.
Dental Bonding
Cosmetic bonding involves placing a composite resin over a tooth. It is great for small gaps, minor cracks, and discoloration on one or two teeth. We can usually complete cosmetic bonding in one visit. The composite resin is tooth colored, and we tint it to match the surrounding enamel so it blends in seamlessly with the surrounding teeth. The resin will stay strong for many years with proper care and will not stain.
Veneers
Veneers are thin, porcelain shells that fit over the front surfaces of teeth. With veneers, we can correct more pronounced issues than with cosmetic bonding, but because we have to prepare the teeth for them and each one is custom made, the process for placing veneers requires at least two visits to complete. Veneers create a natural-looking, uniform appearance and can last for a decade or longer. They are also stain resistant.
Crowns
A crown covers the entire visible portion of a tooth. We typically use crowns for severe cases of damage and decay. Crowns can restore strength and stability to a damaged or weakened tooth or reinforce one that is smaller than it should be. Each crown is custom made, so placing one requires more than one visit to complete. Crowns are very natural looking and strong enough to withstand the wear and tear of daily use.
Which Treatment to Choose?
For minor imperfections, dental bonding is a great option, but for larger issues, we may recommend veneers or crowns.
