We are committed to giving each of our patients high-quality dental care. We know that each patient is different and has different needs and concerns. This is why we make sure to listen to each individual patient and treat them with respect. We offer a variety of other services to help our patients get beautiful smiles.
One of the procedures we offer at our office is same-day crowns. This procedure is a type of dental crown. A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap that your dentist fits over a damaged tooth.
We may do this procedure for a variety of reasons, like fixing a cracked tooth or restoring the appearance of a misshapen tooth.
If I need a crown, what do I do?
Same day crowns can get you the tooth replacement you need in just a couple hours.
Getting a crown is not an uncommon procedure. It is a procedure that we offer at our office and one that we have done many times. We will talk to you about the procedure and walk you through the steps. We will also be happy to answer any questions you might have.
There are a couple of different options when it comes to getting dental crowns. We know that each situation and each person is different, so we will discuss options and figure out which one works best for your specific situation. One such option is a temporary crown.
What is a temporary crown?
All-resin crowns are a fairly affordable option compared to ceramic or porcelain crowns. Resin does tend to wear down more quickly and can be more likely to fracture. Resin is usually only used in temporary crowns.
Stainless steel crowns are another temporary crown option. These are often used while a permanent crown is being created. They are also often used to protect baby teeth. Another option is a permanent crown.
What is a permanent crown?
Permanent crowns are made out of all-ceramic or all-porcelain material. These crowns are a great choice if you’re allergic to metal. They are also a great option as they can be matched to the color of your natural teeth which means they can blend together seamlessly in your mouth.
We also offer another crown option: porcelain fused to metal. These crowns are popular because they can be matched in color with the teeth. They are also durable and strong. They can provide strength for bridges and other dental appliances.
Metal crowns are another kind of permanent crown. These last the longest as they are unlikely to chip or break. They can withstand chewing and biting better than other types of crowns. Metal crowns are often used for back teeth that are not as visible.
Our Option: Same Day Crowns
Same-day crowns are a great way to get a crown placed. This is a convenient and quality procedure. In the past, the process for getting a dental crown was a long one. The dentist would have to take a mold of the damaged tooth and then send the mold to a lab. After a couple weeks, you could finally have your new crown placed.

We have better options today. Using computers to design and shape crowns, our dentists in Meridian ID can reduce the amount of time needed to put in a crown.
At our office, we provide same-day crown procedures that involve using a small camera to take a 3-D image of the tooth. Machines then carve a crown from ceramic and are ready to bond to the tooth. From beginning to end, the process takes around two hours.
At Millennium Dental, we can produce crowns during your appointment. If you think you could benefit from a dental crown, contact us to schedule an appointment.
